15.7.2013 - Looking forward to seeing the professionally taken photographs of one of our Oakwrights projects - they were certainly lucky to catch a good day of weather with blue skies!  Hope to be able to post some soon to the website!

Have been making a steady stream of planning (and listed building) applications this year, and currently have five being determined.  We were delighted to hear that approval had been granted for a project in Wiltshire last Friday.  Just some of the counties we are working in at the moment are Yorkshire, Herefordshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Worcestershire, and Powys.

20.7.2012 - Planning permission granted on one project this week, and another validated.  Both for new dwellings, both to be based around internal ‘post and beam’ style oak-frames.

9.7.2012 - enjoyed stopping off recently to see a finished project (see a few pics here).  A really well finished property, which had a lovely light and spacious feel, great connection to the garden spaces beyond, and with lots of internal and external oak features.  A good example of a dramatic improvement between the original house and the replacement.

4.4.2012 - Great to receive the Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent today for a single storey link extension in Herefordshire.

2.4.2012 - Just back from three days at the Homebuilding and Renovating show at the NEC in Birmingham, meeting potential new clients on the TJ Crump Oakwrights stand.  Lots of interesting people, with plots and projects across the country, from Northumberland to Cornwall!

25.1.2012 - Just been to see a completed extension project that I designed back in 2007.  The clients have been in the finished house since July last year, and it is quite a transformation.  Check out the pictures here.

The front elevation has been modestly extended and improved with the porch enclosed and the windows upgraded.  As you move around the end gables to the rear it becomes clear where the main works have taken place.  A double gabled, exposed oak-framed extension, with rendered panels, has added two bedrooms, and a generous family kitchen and dining room to the house.

The landscaping works have been finished, and a generous garage/outbuilding with office space over has been built, so the clients are able to work from home.

9.9.2011 - a positive planning outcome this week, to follow last week’s success! Both in Herefordshire, and both involved older properties.  So both required negotiation with the Conservation Officer as well as the planner, though only one actually needed a Listed Building Consent application.  Oh, and a detailed ecological survey followed by full details of the mitigation measures proposed were vital in achieving the success.  Patience can pay off!

2.9.2011 - Planning and Listed Building Consent just granted for a two storey extension to a listed cottage, along with a detached garage building. Internal oak frame structure to the extension, clad with timber weather boarding with some brickwork to plinths, to sit sympathetically alongside the original brick and half-timbered cottage.
